The International Professional Development Course on Education for Sustainable Development Has Successfully Concluded at al-Farabi

From 18 to 30 May 2026, the "Entrepreneurship and Innovation" Center of the Department of Economics, Higher School of Economics and Business, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, successfully conducted a professional development course entitled "Digital Platforms and Sustainable Development: Integrating the SDGs into Education and Science."

The head and author of the program was Yesengazieva Saule Kopeshevna, Candidate of Economic Sciences and Associate Professor at the Department of Economics. The course was aimed at developing modern competencies in the use of digital platforms to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as at developing skills for integrating the principles of sustainable development into educational and research activities.

The program addressed current issues in the digital transformation of education and science, the use of digital educational platforms, the application of artificial intelligence and data analytics in the educational process, and international experience in implementing the SDGs through modern digital technologies. Particular attention was paid to developing digital competencies, creating educational content oriented toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and introducing innovative approaches to training specialists for the digital economy.

The participants of the course were faculty members of the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service (Republic of Uzbekistan): Sattarova Z.I., Shadieva G.M., Artikov Z.S., Ruzieva N.B., Mirzaeva Sh.N., Erdonov M.E., Shermatov A.A., Fozilov V.A., Berdikulova I.R., and Musinov D.S.

The implementation of this educational program contributed to expanding international scientific and educational cooperation, exchanging advanced practices in the fields of digitalization and sustainable development, and creating conditions for the further integration of modern educational approaches into the activities of universities in Central Asia. The course served as an effective platform for professional dialogue, knowledge transfer, and strengthening inter-university ties between representatives of the academic communities of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

The course promotes the strengthening of international academic cooperation, the development of digital competencies, and the introduction of innovative technologies into educational and research activities, as well as the training of specialists capable of effectively addressing the challenges of sustainable development.
