JOINT APPEAL of the Minister of Preschool and School Education and the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, calling on young people, parents and educators to be aware of the negative consequences of drug addiction and drug-related crimes

Dear young people, caring parents, and respected teachers!

A child is the dearest blessing a person has in this world. Being a parent is a great happiness. That is why parents cherish and protect their children as the apple of their eye. To shield their child from any harm that approaches, they make their own chest a shield. Spiritually mature sons and daughters, well aware of this, hold their beloved parents in the highest esteem and care for them with devotion. 

Dear friends!

In our time, there are many threats that target young people. One of them is the scourge of drug addiction. Unfortunately, in our country, too, some young people, knowingly or unknowingly, seeking temporary "pleasure" or an easy income, become involved in this vice and ruin their own futures. Let us resolve to protect our children from this scourge. Otherwise, it will destroy not only the health of our young people, but also future families and even the future of society as a whole. Therefore, each of us must fight this vice resolutely and in unity.

Cherished young people!

Your sound thinking, strong will, and thirst for knowledge are the foundation of our country's future. Never deceive yourselves by saying, "I'll just try it once." Do not forget that narcotic substances are a poison that eats away at your life and a vice that steals tomorrow's dreams. Drug addiction and drug-related crime bring misfortune to every person and their family. They undermine the peace and tranquility of the whole of society.

Respected parents!

Let us be attentive to our children! Let us show them care and affection every day. Let us communicate openly with them, listen to them, and stay informed about their problems. Let us teach young people good qualities, how to give up bad habits, and how to distinguish right from wrong. If their hearts are filled with affection, trust, and spirituality, they will never stray from the right path.

To protect our loved ones from the scourge of drug addiction, we must all be vigilant and alert and fight it together.

Your role in educating the younger generation is unparalleled. Promoting a healthy lifestyle in educational institutions and conveying the negative consequences of drug addiction to the minds of young people are urgent tasks of today. Every lesson and every conversation should awaken healthy thinking and a sense of responsibility in young hearts. We must protect our students as we protect our own children!

Let us all unite! Let us take an uncompromising and firm stance toward drug criminals, who are traitors to the nation, and actively assist law enforcement agencies in the fight against them.
